Interview: Nashville-based Artist Max Frost is Creating a Genre Melting Pot of Music
Pulse! - October 20th, 2023
I served as an interviewer for Nashville-based popular recording artist Max Frost. I spent time researching Frost and his career and developed questions that would be central to capturing his essence as a musician. We delved into his background, his journey as a musician, his reflections on the changing landscape of the music industry, and his approach to creating music. I then created a synthesized coherent article of the interview based directly off the transcript, while adding additional insight and thought.
Blondshell’s Latest Single “Street Rat” is a Powerful Example of the Capability of Indie Rock
Pulse! - October 3rd, 2023
In crafting this piece, I aimed to spotlight Sabrina Teitelbaum, also known as Blondshell and her impact on the indie rock scene. Through her music, particularly her single "Street Rat," I portrayed her as a force in the genre, blending captivating instrumentals with emotionally resonant lyrics. Teitelbaum's evolution from her pop-focused beginnings as BAUM to her current identity as Blondshell is a central narrative, underscoring her authenticity and artistic growth. By weaving together elements of her background, influences, and thematic consistency in her work, I sought to convey the essence of her artistry and the raw emotions she channels into her music.
New School part-time faculty to strike Wednesday
The New School Free Press- November 14th, 2022
In writing this article, I embarked on a thorough investigative journey that involved conducting multiple in-depth interviews with key stakeholders, including representatives from the part-time faculty union, faculty members, and student solidarity organizers. These interviews provided invaluable insights into the motivations, demands, and perspectives surrounding the potential strike at The New School. I dedicated extensive time to research and gather background information on the ongoing negotiations between the university and the part-time faculty union. This process involved delving into past contracts, examining the university's financial constraints, and understanding the broader context of labor disputes in academia.By synthesizing these diverse sources of information, I aimed to provide readers with a nuanced understanding of the issues at hand and the potential implications for all stakeholders involved.
How Age & Education Impacts your Diet (in a positive way)
Personal Data Project- March 27th, 2024
In my role of analyzing data sourced from the CDC and California's Open Data website, I aimed to uncover trends regarding diet and obesity rates among adult residents of California. Focusing on variables such as education, income, sugar consumption, adherence to dietary guidelines, physical activity levels, and obesity rates, I sought to identify correlations and patterns within the data. Through rigorous analysis, I observed a positive trend of adults exhibiting healthier dietary habits as they age, with higher levels of education seemingly contributing to improved health outcomes. Using this insight, I crafted charts and visualizations to effectively communicate these findings, recognizing the complex nature of obesity as influenced by various factors beyond diet alone. Ultimately, my role encompassed collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to shed light on the impact of age and education on diet and health among California adults.
